Frequently Asked Questions


Do I need to arrange a GEMA license for my event?

In Germany, public music events are subject to GEMA fees. If you are booking a private event (such as a birthday party or wedding with friends and family), you normally do not need a license. For public or corporate events, the event organizer (not G-Sounds) is responsible for arranging and covering any required GEMA fees.

What’s included in the karaoke service?

Each package includes professional sound equipment, microphones, disco lighting, and access to Karafun's licensed karaoke catalog. While the configuration varies by package, all options include setup, sound check, and a quick tutorial.

What if we only want music and not karaoke?

No problem! Karaoke is optional and included at no extra cost. If you only want music playback and lighting, let us know in advance and we’ll leave the karaoke gear at the shop. Package prices remain the same.

Can I add my own music or playlists?

Yes! You can connect via Bluetooth or AUX to play your own music in between karaoke sessions.

How long does setup take?

On average, setup takes 30–60 minutes depending on the package. We arrive early to make sure everything is ready before your guests arrive.

Do you provide a host/KJ?

Yes, for an additional hourly rate (€50/hour) we can provide a professional KJ/host to run the event and handle technical support throughout.

Can I book without a host?

Absolutely. Our Light, Standard, and Premium packages are designed to run smoothly on their own. We provide a quick tutorial so you and your guests can operate the system with ease.

What languages do you host in?

Hosting is provided in English only. This ensures clear communication, consistent quality, and the best experience for your event.

Do you require a booking fee?

Yes, a €50 booking fee is required to secure your date. This fee is applied toward your total balance and is fully refundable if the event is canceled more than 14 days in advance.

Is there a damage deposit?

Yes, a refundable €150 damage deposit is required for all self-operated bookings, such as the Light Package. This deposit covers potential equipment damage or loss and will be refunded in full after the event once all items are returned in good condition. Hosted events with on-site staff do not require a damage deposit.

What is your cancellation policy?

How much space do I need?

For smaller packages, a few square meters is enough. For Standard and Premium packages, plan for space to fit a projector screen, lighting, and extra speakers. We’ll help advise on the best setup when we arrive.
